Everyday life adds surprising amounts of moisture to the air inside your home. A family of four can generate up to 30 litres of water vapour daily — just by breathing, showering, cooking, and drying laundry.
And that’s exactly what mould loves.
Mould thrives in damp, poorly ventilated spaces — on walls, ceilings, behind furniture, and in wardrobes. It doesn’t just look or smell bad. Long-term mould exposure has been linked to allergies, asthma, and respiratory issues, especially in children and older adults.
A Ventis Home Ventilation System works by gently pushing drier air from your roof space into your living areas. This creates a positive pressure that flushes stale, moisture-heavy air out through natural gaps and vents.
Over time, this process significantly reduces the indoor humidity that mould needs to grow — helping to protect your home and your health.
Think of Ventis as an invisible insurance policy — working every day to keep your home dry, fresh, and safe.
Mould is part of a common group of organisms called fungi and can be present both indoors and outdoors.
Mould commonly grows in dark moist areas that lack ventilation which includes but is not limited to walls, ceilings, carpet, tiles, insulation and wood. Many different types of mould exist and many pose health risks if left untreated. Mould can be hard to recognise and often looks fuzzy or has a velvety texture.
The most common moulds are black, green or white however mould can be other colours that range from orange to even pink. The colour of mould may not indicate the toxicity of the mould or the severity however it is essential to get the issue addressed.
Mould can cause severe structural damage to your home from damaging floorboards to the insulation system. Dry rot deteriorates wood and timber in buildings and if left untreated it can cause consequential damage to the structural integrity of a house.
This then in turn leads to the house becoming structurally weakened and would be extremely expensive to repair. Mould eats away at organic materials such as wood and fabrics which can cause damage to furniture within the home and personal items. Although it may take some time, many materials will become damaged to the point that repair is no longer possible.
When mould reproduces they release very small particles called spores, which are carried in the air and when inhaled by people can cause health issues.
People with allergies, are sensitive to mould and in particular those who have asthma are most at risk of developing health issues as it can trigger reactions. People who have a weakened immune system are especially susceptible to developing serious health issues and developing a severe mould infection that usually occurs in the lungs. Exposure to mould over time increases the severity of the symptoms and poses higher chances of getting an infection. Limiting exposure and avoiding exposure entirely are the best options for minimising these symptoms.
By installing a Ventis Ventilation System, the naturally beneficial air in the roof space and from outside gets purified and is then introduced into your home and flushes out damp and stale air. An added bonus is that the system helps to reduce any airborne allergens, odour and dust mite populations. The Ventis Ventilation System uses the air from your roof that has been warmed up by the sunlight, and circulates that air throughout the house. This removes and flushes out damp air and moisture from your home and also reaches those small tucked away areas. This warm air is what is utilised to become an effective and eco-friendly heating device for your home.
Installing a Ventis Subfloor Ventilation creates a ventilation flow in the subfloor area of your home. Moisture in the ground can rise through the subflooring of your home and create damp and mould problems that cause health issues and costly damages to your home and personal belongings. Ventis Subfloor Ventilation ventilates and removes the moisture from underneath your home however it is strongly encouraged to pair this with installing adequate drainage to get the best results.
Through using these systems, your home will be kept warm during the cooler months and moisture free. By taking the heated air from the roof and by ventilating the subflooring of your home, Ventis supplies the best ventilation system to keep your home dry and purifies the air whilst doing so.

Getting a Ventis is the best thing we ever did
“Ventis made a huge difference for my daughter and me—we both suffer from asthma and allergies. Our old brick home used to be freezing and full of dust, but since installing Ventis, the air feels cleaner and the house stays much warmer. It works, it’s affordable, and the team was fantastic to deal with.”
Karel, SYDNEY
Since installing our Ventis system, the air quality in our home has completely transformed. It’s fresher, drier, and noticeably more comfortable year-round. We’ve seen a real improvement in our family’s health, especially with allergies. The installation was quick, and the customer service was excellent. I only wish we’d done it sooner

Prompt and efficient replacement of filfters to give another year of clean, fresh air. Graham Lindsay2025-03-21Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have owned a Ventis ventilation system since 2015. The system is excellent and combines well with our new airconditioning/heating system to maintain a stable temperature in the house. Maintenance is roughly annual (change the main filter). We have ours serviced regularly. The service people have always been helpful, courteous, communicate their arrival beforehand, and efficient operators. We have worked out that it saves electricity because the aircon is not required unless the temperature inside is extreme (for us that is below 15ºC and above 28ºC). We highly recommend the system and the company. Our opinion is still current on 21 March 2025. Gary Trewhella2025-03-17Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
